The Love of God

Have you pondered the love of God? Not a mere passing thought but a deep contemplation on God’s love? God does not HAVE love, so says the book of 1 John, God IS love. It is not something He has but Who He is. It is the foundation of His nature and the compulsion of His character. We cannot begin to understand Who our indescribable God is until we clearly see Him as a God of love. Read moreRead more

a daily dose of Quotes!

I decided rather than a guest post today we would have a guest website … sorta. What better way to celebrate Memorial Day than to think back and remember those things which have affected and shaped us into who we are today; those things, events, and people we treasure the most. In this case, it is turning back to the rich heritage of Christianity that has gone before us, leaving a trail of books, quotes, and examples behind. Read moreRead more

EM Bounds on Prayer

Few authors have had as much impact on prayer as EM Bounds. Bounds, a pastor who lived during the time of the Civil War, discovered that “prayer is the easiest and hardest of all things; the simplest and the sublim-est; the weakest and the most powerful; its results lie outside the range of human possibilities-they are limited only by the omnipotence of God.” Read moreRead more

Psalm 51.14-17

“God is less interested in external behavior than He is about internal attitude.” Almost a hard thought to swallow. All our lives we are told to live according to the external: “Do this!” “Don’t to that!” “Follow these rules!” “Behave this way!” “Quit acting like so-and-so!” But I have come to the conclusion that God is more interested in what is going on internally in my life than what is coming out of it. We Hear You

One of the things I love about solid worship leaders/writers is how they can take a concept that is in the Word and bring it to life through song. Through my involvement in Cross Style and Ellerslie I have greatly benefited from this “Word in song” concept. At Ellerslie, Ben Zornes has written several outstanding tunes which enunciates the depth of the Word (watch for the upcoming album soon to be released). At Cross Style, Sean Patrick often takes the message of the sermons being preached and brings them to life (a Cross Style music CD is soon to be released as well). Here are the lyrics to one of the recent songs being song at the Cross Style Church, lyrics I have found myself humming to throughout the recent days. Read moreRead more
