Quote 33: Our Relationship with Jesus
Jesus Christ does not want to be our helper; He wants to be our life. He does not want us to work for Him; He wants us to let Him do His work through us, using us as we use a pencil to write with – better still, using us as one of the fingers on His hand. Read more
Quote 032 :: Soul-Winners
All great soul-winners have been men of much and mighty prayer, and all great revivals have been preceded and carried out by persevering, prevailing knee-work in the closet. Read more
Quote 031 :: Humility
The great test of whether the holiness we profess to seek or to attain is truth and life will be whether it be manifest in the increasing humility it produces. In the creature, humility is the one thing needed to allow God’s holiness to dwell in him and shine through him. In Jesus, the holy one of God who makes us holy, a divine humility was the secret of his life and his death and his exaltation; the one infallible test of our holiness will be the humility before God and men which marks us. Quote 030 :: Prayer
O brother, pray; in spite of Satan, pray; spend hours in prayer; rather neglect friends than not pray; rather fast, and lose breakfast, dinner, tea, and supper—and sleep too—than not pray. And we must not talk about prayer, we must pray in right earnest. The Lord is near. He comes softly while the virgins slumber. Read more

Be warned: It doesn’t matter what anyone tells you about a great “revival” or moving of the Spirit taking place; it doesn’t matter how many multitudes are involved, or how loud their praises are; it doesn’t matter how “successful” a particular ministry may appear to be. If the cross of Jesus Christ is not the door through which people come, you can rest assured – it is not a work of God. Read more
Quote 028 :: Revival
Revival cannot be organized, but we can set our sails to catch the wind from heaven when God chooses to blow upon His people once again. Read more
Quote 027 :: Pliable Instruments
God does not tell us that we are workmen who are to use and manage instruments. Instead we are the instruments to be used and managed by the divine Master Workman who made us, and who alone, therefore, understands for what work we are best fitted and how we are best used. The only thing the instrument can do is yield itself perfectly to the will of the Master Workman. The Master surely knows how best to use His instruments, and it is plainly not the business of the tool to decide these questions for itself. Neither must it try to help by its own efforts to do the work. Read more
